B. Engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources
Through the creation of a WebQuest, I had the opportunity to create a tool that engages students in exploring real world issues and solving authentic problems. Students use math in their daily lives and to have them participate in a WebQuest that exposes math to real life situations is crucial to their success.
This standard can be implemented in many different ways, and although I am still new to analyzing my resources and comparing them to the NETS I am finding that even through the use of real- life word problems during my PSSA lessons, I am utilizing flipcharts as well, and am therefore, somewhat implementing this standard. It will be a work in progress, but it is good to know that I am on the right path.
